Lead through change with healthy performance

Coaching to support resilience of you, your people and organisation in times of uncertainty and change

What’s the purpose of this programme?

It’s designed to support the healthy performance of leaders, managers and organisations in times of change.  It helps to build individual and organisational resilience for greater adaptability.

It’s also designed to help change work more smoothly, deliver the right outcomes, and you get through it with as little damage to people and performance as possible.

I’m Jo Twiselton and I bring 20 years’ experience of change implementation in mid to large-sized organisations. I’ve supported successful multi-million-pound change projects and programmes, from rolling out new technology solutions and ways of working to rebrands, restructures and mergers and acquisitions. I’ve seen, and experienced, how change can have a negative impact on people and how coaching and communication can help minimise these effects.

Does this sound like you?

You’re a leader or manager in a mid to large sized organisation and you’re responsible for delivering change at pace but want to avoid pressure or burnout for you and your team.

My clients are typically leaders and managers who care about their people and are interested in new approaches.  They want to make the most of the upsides that come with transition and transformation.

They know that resilience is vital and that it impacts performance.  It’s the foundation for people – and organisations - to be able to flex successfully in times of stress.

Work is starting to feel more pressured and troubling. You have too much on your plate to focus effectively or you’re having more tricky conversations.  Whatever it might be, it feels like it’s impacting your ability to lead well.

You’re busy, focused on deadlines and deliverables but you need to take responsibility for taking care of yourself. You need to be intentional about this to steady the ship in times of increasing uncertainty.

Why is this programme needed?

Every leader I work with wants change to run smoothly and make the most of the upsides that come with transition and transformation.

They need to lead and keep their teams motivated while delivering change well and meeting their objectives - which can be a juggling act.

When things get busy, they often forget they need to put their oxygen mask on first and things can feel more stressful.  To shift old habits, or avoid reverting to old ones, demands time, energy and focus.

These are some of the issues they can typically experience:

  • Work can increasingly become a source of pressure. Stress increases and leads to lower energy levels, poor sleep, eating or exercise patterns, motivation dips and thinking can become less flexible.

  • Workloads are high, doing more with less and change is often delivered on top of the ‘day job’. It’s a constant catch-up.

  • They don’t have space to think about how much change everyone is dealing with and what support might be needed to help them and their teams to flourish.

My work focuses on these four outcome-oriented practices:

  1. Creating a though-provoking but safe space for you to explore new ideas, get clarity and develop solutions that work for you.

  2. Cultivating a mindset, practice and toolkit that helps you put people (including you) first in times of change and get better outcomes.

  3. Rethinking change from being a short-term ‘thing’ to a long-term shift in the way you do things. It’ll help people flourish - not just survive

  4. Build more self-awareness to better understand habits and behaviours around stress. With this insight, it’s easier to make deliberate choices for change

Adopting these practices can help improve engagement, set the right tone and direction and build resilience.

What benefits can you expect from working with me?

You’ll build a mindset that will help you to step up, lead well and maintain and improve performance.

You’ll develop clearer thinking, to lead with more purpose and impact in how you deliver change

You’ll feel more confident and clearer in how you communicate, helping you respond rather than react.

How do we work together?

We begin with a 30-minute chemistry session over Zoom or face-to-face to find out if we’re a good match. We’ll explore your goals, challenges and what success looks like for you.

If we decide to work together, I share an introduction pack, including questions to help you think about what you really want to get from working with me.

Programmes typically run for a minimum of three months and usually look like this:

  • Bespoke 1-2-1 sessions over Zoom, usually for an hour.  The first session is longer, for 60-90 minutes

  • We agree session times upfront, so they are held in our calendars (and don’t get derailed in busy times)

  • We meet every two weeks for three months initially. My minimum engagement is three sessions.

  • I offer times from Monday to Thursday with some early morning/late evening availability.

  • I offer the WRAW (Wellbeing and Resilience at Work) psychometric assessment which can helps focus on the aspects most relevant to you.

  • Our work together is shaped and directed by your goals and objectives.

  • I offer a one-hour meeting three months after our coaching programme ends to check in on your progress.

How do we increase your chances of success?

You’ll have space – and time - to explore what you need to develop your skills and transform your approach.

You’ll need to invest time and energy during and in between our coaching session and be open to learning and trying different things.

We’ll draw on the principles of positive change, focusing on people, communication and transparency and making expectations clear.

How is my approach different?

I understand change and communication at both organisation and individual levels. This helps me focus on the questions and approaches that will make the most of our time together.

I’ve worked with and in a range of different organisations from SMEs to multinationals. I’ve experienced the politics, accountability and unrelenting pressure that leaders can face in times of upheaval, that others don’t often see.

My approach is practical, empathetic but challenging. You’ll need to be OK with feeling uncomfortable at times.

What this programme is not

It’s not about me telling you what to do.  It’s about offering space for you to explore and build your skills.

It’s not about learning about models of wellbeing and resilience.  It’s about helping you transform your approach to help you step up and lead, consistently.

It’s not just about turning up for sessions.  You’ll need to bring energy and commitment to do what might sometimes feel uncomfortable.

What does this programme help you avoid?

Focusing on immediate activities at the expense of building sustainable practices for consistent performance.

Feeling that it’s counter-intuitive to focus on yourself when you’re facing so many demands and decisions to be made.

Well-meaning, short-term habit changes. I’ll help you develop the skills for the most effective strategies.

Your next steps…

We’ll set up a 30-minute introductory conversation to answer your questions, make sure the programme is right for you and see if we’re a good fit.

I’ll ask you lots of questions to understand your challenges and goals. You’ll get a feeling of what it’s like to work with me.
